When grilling salmon, we like to try different ways of doing this. Grilled salmon is great on its own, but sometimes you want a little something extra. We love sweet bourbon salmon and even just plain salmon, but it was time to try something new, and that led to Grilled Salmon with Spicy Pineapple Citrus Sauce.
Grilled Salmon with Spicy Pineapple Citrus Sauce is the combination of sweet and spicy coming together in the best way. This recipe blends fresh pineapple with other citrus flavors and the spicy hot flavor of sriracha hot chili sauce. The combination of sweet and spicy add a little something extra to the taste of the grilled salmon, when used both as a basting sauce as you grill the salmon and as a sauce you pour lightly over the salmon when served. The results are wonderful and full of rich flavors!
Grilled Salmon with Spicy Pineapple Citrus Sauce
2 to 4 pieces of salmon about 5 to 6 ounces each
1/2 cup fresh pineapple
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons organic honey
1 to 2 teaspoons sriracha hot chili sauce (depending on desired heat)
In a blender, blend together the pineapple, lime juice, orange juice, honey, and sriracha hot chili sauce until smooth. Use one-third of the sauce to baste the salmon as you grill it. Reserve the rest to pour over the grilled salmon when served. Grill salmon to taste while basting with the sauce set aside for this purpose.
When the Grilled Salmon with Spicy Pineapple Citrus Sauce is ready, serve it with a vegetable of your choice and a white wine. This Spicy Pineapple Citrus Sauce will add a sweet and spicy taste to your grilled salmon that will compliment your whole meal, whatever you serve.
